Alice Dellal is a model and London socialite born 1987 in Brazil. She is the daughter of Brazilian model Andrea Dellal and British millionaire Guy Dellal. She first became interested in photography, but instead, decided on modeling. From the beginning of her career she has been known as "edgy" for her half shaved head, many tattoos, multiple piercings and Rock Star lifestyle. One of her earliest jobs was in 2006 for photographer Will Whipple and later that year Burberry signed her as a model for its Fall 2006 campaign. Since Alice has posed for magazines like Nylon, British Elle, Vogue and Dazed & Confused. And in 2009 she was picked by i-D magazine to be on one of their 12 different covers dedicated to the top "Best British Models," where she posed against legends like Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, and Twiggy.

I am a big fan of edgy fashion and one trend that seems to be real popular is the sheer dress. It's pretty edgy and risque but it's cute (for the most part). Khloe Kardashian seems to be a big fan of the trend herself. Here are some of the best and most daring looks worn by a few celebs--plus a DIY if you're bold enough to pull off this trend.

Now here is the DIY inspired by Alice's dress from Haute Pursuit

Things you'll need:

» American Apparel Mesh Dress

» 2 yards of black cotton jersey (anything with stretch will work)

» Light but durable paper for pattern-making (mine was 17″ x 31″)

» Scissors, needle, and black thread

» Demi-cup bra

Now here are the steps:

1. TAKE SHAPE Halve your sheet of paper and start drawing the top half of the pattern. Here I used a ruler to create straight lines. As a general guide, take a strapless demi-cup bra to ensure that your pattern gives you enough coverage. Continue drawing until you have completed the pattern.

2. SNIP SNIP Cut the fabric with your pattern. Be liberal with pins: you need to make laser edge cuts.

3. STITCH BY STICH Pin the fabric onto the dress turned inside-out. Sew very delicately–mesh cannot take super tight stitches. Sew in sections; this way if you ‘mess up’ you won’t have to take the whole seam out. Try it on after the bust area has been sewed together. If all looks well, continue sewing.

4. PUT YOUR BACK INTO IT Use the same pattern to create a piece for the back. Place against the front to ensure the sides meet, so your profile will have a continuous line and then you're done

There's only 4 days left of the year and everyone is putting in their opinion on which things were most popular in 2009. Who knew the top trend in hair would be to have no hair--it seems like everyone was cutting off their hair this year. Remember a couple of years ago when Britney Spears shaved her head and everyone thought she was crazy? Well maybe she was just being fashion forward! Now two years later women are sporting short bobs, faux bobs, mohawks, buzz cuts, and the most popular, half shaved heads. Two people who really got this trend going were Rihanna and most definitely Cassie. Rihanna seems to be the queen of all haircuts (besides Victoria Beckham & Halle Berry) and Cassie really made herself more popular once she shaved her hair off!
