Red Carpet Fashion: The Oscars
It's official, now that the Oscars has come and gone, this marks the end of the red carpet season. So let's have a look at some of the best --and a few of the worst-- gowns from tonight's award show. Usually the Oscars are full of ladies dressed in the most gorgeous high fashion gowns and old Hollywood Glamour; but this year it seems that everyone went outside the box and tried something different and true to their own style...
The young but amazing Hailee Steinfeld in a blush-toned Marchesa gown, which she helped design for herself!
The always stunning Halle Berry in a nude embellished, organza tulle gown also by Marchesa
Sandra Bullock in Vera Wang, it's pretty much impossible for her to top her dress from last year, but she still looked good!
Pretty much all of these ladies were my favorite of the night--the color, the fit, the styling, everything about their looks were perfect & elegant. First there is Michelle Williams in Chanel, Mandy Moore in Monique Lhuillier, Gwyneth Paltrow in Calvin Klein, and Celine Dion in Armani Prive
The stylish and beautiful Scarlett Johansson in Dolce & Gabbana. It may not be the best looking dress of the night but I thought she still looked great somehow. The hair and dress worked since she was just there as a presenter..and not to mention the back was sexy!
Cate Blanchett definitely gets points for being so fashion forward and daring in this Givenchy dress!
Jennifer Hudson in yet another beautiful Versace gown. She must be their new go-to gal with this new figure of hers. Can't wait to see what she wears next...
For once dark dresses weren't the popular choice of the night. Although I totally loved this midnight blue L'Wren Scott gown Amy Adams wore (I seriously want this!). Then there was Busy Phillips in this pleated fishtail LBD, Cheryl Hines in a strapless sparkling LBD, and the adorable Reese Witherspoon in a 60's inspired look from Giorgio Armani Privé
I thought this dress was so beautiful, Hilary Swank always gets it right for the red carpet. This couture dress was by Gucci Premiere
Another great look by the pregnant Natalie Portman in Rodarte! Yes she wore Rodarte and not Dior!!! And I thought it was the perfect choice since they designed all of the costumes for her movie Black Swan
Here are a few good with the bad...Sure Jennifer Lawrence looked gorgeous in this CK gown but she looked way too much like Scarlett Jo from 2006 (It's like she copied her entire look!). But Aishwarya Rai was beautiful in this Armani Prive gown, Nicole Kidman was in Dior, probably one of the ugliest Dior dresses I have seen and Sharon Stone looked great but her hair/makeup was a different story...
The best dressed couples of the night, thanks to the ladies of course! Penelope Cruz on her first red carpet since having her baby, and she looked flawless in this sequined L'Wren Scott gown. And Camila Alves dress by Kaufman Franco was beyond fabulous. I just loved the full ball gown, plus it had pockets!
